Spicy food, big meals, stress. Sometimes your gut just needs a break, and searching for a real gut health supplement instead of a quick fix is usually the right instinct. GI Relief is built around a handful of time-tested botanicals that coat and calm an irritated digestive tract rather than trying to shut symptoms down.
A Digestive Discomfort Supplement Built on Mucilage, Not Suppression
The core of the formula is mucilage, the gel-like substance found in both slippery elm bark and marshmallow root. When these plants meet moisture, they form a soothing film over irritated tissue, which is part of why GI Relief works well for esophageal discomfort too, not just stomach upset. Aloe vera gel adds another layer of support, and because it comes from the aloe plant's inner fillet rather than the whole leaf, it skips the laxative effect some aloe products carry.
Then there's DGL, deglycyrrhizinated licorice. Regular licorice root can raise blood pressure in some people because of a compound called glycyrrhizin. DGL has that compound removed, so you get licorice's traditional support for the GI lining without that tradeoff.
A flexible option: If swallowing capsules isn't ideal, especially for esophageal irritation, you can open the capsule and stir the contents into warm water to drink like a tea.
